Martial arts is Great Exercise - Stretch It Out
When we exercise here at Springfield Shudokan Family Karate, we all need to stretch out to ready and condition our muscles. Stretching our muscles keeps us from injuring them during the workout. Stretching keeps the body and muscles limber and increases flexibility.
Beginning students need to stretch to focus on conditioning their bodies so they do not pull a muscle, twist an ankle, or sprain a wrist. Students who have been practicing for a while need to stretch to strengthen their stances, lengthen their kicks, or increase their balance. Senior or advanced students need to stretch to help strengthen their techniques and further increase flexibility. Stay limber and stay fit.
